Three By Wade Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019

$50.00

The grapes in this bottling come entirely from the Napa Valley AVA, with roughly half from the eastern hills of Oakville and the other from the heart and soul of Napa, Rutherford. After the fruit was selected and harvested the wine was aged for 20 months in French oak, of which 75% was new.

Aromatically the wine has notes of plums, blackberries, and sweet currants as well as chalky graphite. On the palate the wine dances along the line between being medium and full-bodied, with classic fruit flavors and a lingering tannic grip laced with tobacco leaves.

This offers a solid and direct beam of cassis, plum puree and singed vanilla, with a red licorice note filling in on the finish. Drink now through 2026. 1,000 cases made.

- 90 Points, Wine Specator, August, 2021, James Molesworth

FOUNDED
2012

Former NBA all-star, MVP, World Champion Dwyane Wade is nothing if not driven. Through his successes in his athletic career, and with the help of fellow teammates and foodies Chris Bosh and Lebron James, he discovered a passion and love for fine wines. Thanks to the friendships he cultivated over the years, he turned to a specifically dear one with esteemed Napa winemaker Jayson Pahlmeyer. Pahlmeyer, with thirty years of winemaking under his belt, offered endless guidance to Wade and even went as far as to have him witness the 2014 Napa Valley harvest. Through the knowledge, Wade accessed through this harvest, the assistance of Pahlmeyer, and Wade's impressive drive, Wade Cellars was born.

With president Matt Naumann and winemaker John Keyes, Wade Cellars has evolved from a simple dream to create a wine, to a project dedicated to breaking down old school perceptions of Napa wines. Though originally inspired by highly coveted and fine wines, Wade has taken the evolution of wine as an approachable, fun, and enjoyable delicacy to heart. Beneath Wade Cellars the winery has sprung Three by Wade as their ready-upon-release sub-label. This label creates, as of now, Chenin Blanc, Rosé, and Cabernet Sauvignon out of fruit sourced from the most desirable appellations within California.
